Three Things To Look For When Hiring

Well hey there. You’re here, I’m here, and we’re closing out another week with a Culture Junky LinkedIn Exclusive.
I hope this week’s blog finds you well wherever you are out there in the world, and it’s my hope that you have a great weekend ahead as well? Before we shift gears and make the transition to the weekend, however, it’s time to talk about organizational culture.?
This week, while scrolling LinkedIn, I saw a post from Leadership First with a quote explaining the three things that one should look for while hiring.
The first element was integrity, something that (if you’ve been following my Culture Junky content for some time) you’ve probably seen me preach as well. It’s one of my core values that I look for when hiring along with honesty, because it’s something I think is incredibly important when hiring.
The second was intelligence, again something that I look for when hiring because you want to make sure you have the right people for the job.?
The last was being high energy, which goes great with a well-defined and intentional organizational culture.?
As the quote explained, however, if you hire someone without the first one, then the other two really don’t matter.?
I couldn’t agree more with that sentiment, and it’s one of the reasons that I value integrity so much when hiring. Because smart people and motivated people, they are important, and sometimes they’re hard to find. But what’s more important than being smart or being someone who has a lot of energy in the workplace is being someone whom others can rely on to be honest.?
So think about it. The Culture Junky sure will. Be good to each other out there.?

3 个月Jonathan Corteen - great article my friend. I couldn't agree more. To me, integrity is doing the right thing when nobody else is looking. Very high on the list of things I need in order to work with people.
