I’ve had the privilege to coach and mentor stellar performers in the region, and through our work the question was always how to perform better, achieve more prominent results and stay well (mentally and physically) in the process.
Through the journey, many tools and methods were tested, and below are summarized the top three (from my opinion and experience) – because they’ve worked best and delivered the fastest results.
1)??? Schedule like a CEO
- How?
- Put simply, what doesn’t get scheduled – doesn’t get done. Everything that matters should make it in the schedule, and as much as reasonably commit to it. That includes adding your gym time, fun time, events and of course your KPIs that get you closer to your goals.
- Note: it can be a bit overwhelming at the start, but then you get used to dedicating a day per week of setting the schedule & planning in advance.
- Research has shown that integrating gratitude as part of your regular routine, allows you to feel more deeply about your life, and emits emotions that allow you to find value in who you are and what you do.
- How?
- Every morning and evening (or at the frequency of your choice) either vocally, in written form, or through meditation recall and acknowledge the things you are grateful for. Try to come up with new items, experiences, and events every day – so your brain is trained to look for gratitude even in the smallest details.
- Note: it might be challenging at first, to come up with new events or experiences, but trust me – give it a week or two and you’ll fall into the pattern
3)??? Reflections/Journaling
- How?
- This includes reflecting on and deep diving (as much as you can) into what has happened to you, and for you, during the day/the week. It allows you to monitor your thoughts, feelings and truly acknowledge your achievements progress
- Some clients prefer doing this through voice notes or writing – my personal preference is writing in your journal (even vs typing) because it has shown much improved results.
- Note: if you don’t know how to reflect, I’ve added a few resources to get you started.
- If you’ve committed to make this year better, and more productive and successful, the below tips should help you:
- Schedule like your time matters, and stick to it because you respect your time and your energy
- Gratitude goes a long way, personally and professionally.
- Reflection allows you to acknowledge your journey and your growth.
