There are three talks one gives. ????????????!
Every speaker knows the truth: no matter how well-prepared, every talk you give exists in three forms:
On the drive back, my mind starts replaying the talk. The brain mixes my delivery with images of the audience's reactions, and the highs and lows flash past.
Then suddenly, realization sets in: I should have handled one section differently, maybe used a different example, or played with the audience a bit more.
Whether it's a talk, a project, or a new initiative, the pattern is the same: there are always three modes: preparation, delivery, and reflection.
It's the same with every activity I take on if I'm looking for continuous improvement—that one small step forward.
Preparation is important, but it cannot be an infinite loop.
At some point, I say enough and DO—to the best of my abilities.
Then, I let it mellow for a while before I analyse, seek feedback, introspect, and get back onto that stage.
"????, ?????? ????????'?? ?? ???? ???? ???????? ???????"
"?? ???????????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ??????????????, ???????? ??????????, ???????? ????????!"
After the feedback, analysis, and rejigging:
With the next opportunity, I will deliver that talk just that bit differently. I will execute that project with this new learning!
The three modes—this is a fact of life.
Preparation cannot be an ongoing exercise. At some point, I deliver, talk, publish.
And then listen.
Yesterday, I conducted a game workshop among peers, other professional speakers, and experienced this firsthand. This was a "for feedback" or feed-forward session.

Of course, on the drive back, I had many could've/should've moments. The talk has been fully recorded, and now is the time for me to analyse, tweak, overhaul, and give the same talk next week—to another audience!
The secret fuel for success is not just in preparation or reflection—it's in the DOING. It's what pushes us forward, fuels growth, and sharpens the edge.

A new book for October. Here’s a glimpse from it. One of those days when the designer “got it” immediately and over-delivered!
Let me know if you would like an early edition of this mini-book.

1 个月Very nicely put in words. It sure is good to remind one self to act and not just be preparing. Nicely compiled thoughts.

1 个月Totally relatable, Pravin Shekar. We all have those could've/should've moments. From what I understand, there's no perfect way to do anything, and there will always be a room of improvement, regardless of whether you're a seasoned campaigner or a newbie.
