Generative AI offers a huge window of opportunity for business development and technical advancement. Numerous businesses are utilizing AI in their interactions with clients and staff.

During my technology career, I’ve had the great opportunity to work on some significant technology changes. The journey started with Mainframe. The internet brought new technologies: J2EE, mobile applications, cloud computing, and more.

With each wave of new technologies comes new opportunities and possibilities. So, with each wave of new technologies, the focus of technology work and learning has changed.

Staying ahead of the curve is more important than ever in the quickly changing world of technology today. To remain relevant and robust, thought leaders must constantly innovate and adjust. As technology develops, consider the following crucial tactics for redefining your role as a thought leader.

A year ago, everyone was talking about Kubernetes and microservices. All hyperscaler technology conferences have shifted from microservices to generative AI. Most of the sessions were on GenAI, not Kubernetes.

AI & Generative AI

Now, GenAI and AI appear to be the next evolution of the internet.

Generative AI models can create new content, translate languages, write different kinds of creative content, and answer your questions in an informative way. This could lead to a new era of the internet where users are not just consumers of content, but also creators.

Employee productivity and efficiency could increase by 50% with the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI). This is not the first time it has occurred. The Internet has had a positive impact on employee efficacy, making workers more productive, efficient, and knowledgeable.

All the C-suite executives I've spoken to want to learn about GenAI application use cases and their commercial outcomes. According to Gartner, by 2024, 40% of enterprise applications will embed conversational AI. Some research estimates that generative AI could add $2.6 trillion to $4.4 trillion in annual economic benefits across 63 use cases. Customer operations, marketing and sales, software engineering, and R&D account for 75% of generative AI use case value.

1. Continuous learning and stay up-to-date

I choose people who can learn new technologies and adapt. Learning new technologies quickly is more important than knowing existing, old technologies. Technological advances require constant reinvention.

Applying generative AI and staying ahead in a quickly changing field require persistent knowledge. Your success requires this knowledge and skill devotion. I developed a GenAI course specifically for the aim of instructing Architects.

  • GenAI Skill assessment - Skill Benchmarks are short ?evaluations that help you make fact-based judgments based on your?knowledge. Skill Benchmarks track competency and helps you to identify online courses to fill gaps.
  • Join courses such as Applied Generative AI for Digital Transformation from MIT

2. Step outside your comfort zone

A crucial step in reinventing oneself is breaking old habits and viewpoints. This requires stepping outside of your comfort zone and taking risks. For instance, I've heard from a few folks, 'I'm an architect, not a programmer!' People choose roles. It's common knowledge that moving beyond one's comfort zone leads to advancement. You must embrace new technologies in addition to the ones you are already familiar with if you are prepared to transform into your unique self.

3. Focus on Business outcome

Your primary focus should be on the business's outcome. Whenever you embark on a new endeavor, keep your end business goal in mind. Establish measurable business success criteria and a plan of action to meet them. Focus on the end result at the beginning. Create unique solutions that can fulfill the needs of the important stakeholders.This method promotes a results-driven culture, improves decision-making, and guarantees that every action has a purpose, increasing business competitiveness and longevity.

Quickly developing GenAI technology impacts almost every aspect of our lives. Becoming a thought leader in this dynamic climate requires accepting and understanding technology. AI technology is rapidly altering how we communicate, work, and live. As technology transforms entire industries and our daily lives, professional thought leaders need to adapt and reinvent themselves.

In the digital age, thought leadership promotes innovation, change, and dialogue that shapes our future. It's critical to keep in mind that technological advancements happen swiftly. During the post-2022 era, these fields saw notable improvements or new technologies that will influence the future. Thought leaders need to stay current on these developments to adjust and fully harness the potential of new technologies.
