Three Steps To Accelerate Your Business English Skills

Pressure to speak English in the workplace continues to grow as more and more companies invest in globalising their teams. However, mastering a new language requires time and resources that many people, especially adults who are no longer in school, struggle to find.??

Jack is one of my clients. He's a senior manager at a Hong Kong IT company. Every morning, he listens to Bloomberg radio on his way to work and used to read each issue of the Economist from cover to cover in an effort to continuously improve his English. As a Hong Kong native who grew up speaking Cantonese and Mandarin, Jack has worked hard to become fluent in English.

Jack spent hours learning vocabulary but not using it in context.? He learned lots of idioms and phrasal verbs but didn’t have the courage to use them as he felt he might make a mistake.???

• It is crucial to determine the specific language needed in the client's situation.? To learn new phrases and vocabulary to expand your knowledge to further communicate successfully with your colleagues building up genuine relationships and improving your career prospects.??
• Being able to understand business culture in English-speaking countries and differences from their own culture to further enhance understanding and gain meaningful, corporate connections.?
• Master specific business vocabulary including business idioms, expressions, and phrases to? improve speaking clarity by correcting vowels and consonants students have trouble with.?

Second steps are to significantly improve pronunciation and confidence, empowering the clients to succeed.?

• To facilitate the client's verbal skills so they will significantly improve their speaking clarity by focusing on intonation, receive help with pronunciation techniques so they sound more natural to native speakers?
• Then Work to develop English communication in role-play activities based on real-life corporate situations. This will vastly improve small talk, meetings, and result in giving strong presentations, online and in person.?
• Finally master different strategies to meet targets and encourage best practice.

Third steps are to encourage clear and concise writing skills to communicate quickly and accurately??

• This will help clients to? learn the format and principles of writing business emails in English, giving the skillset to carry out any correspondence needed in the workplace.? Learning correct writing techniques, punctuation and how to make your writing actionable, clear and concise. This is crucial for today's fast paced corporate environment.?
• Developing sharply honed writing skills is helpful when you clearly and quickly communicate updates, company events, important projects, or other major topics to employees without requiring additional time for clarification or questions.?

My 10 week program will give you the tools that you need and finally there will be a wrap-up session to make sure students have received what they expect from the program and bridge any identified gaps.?
