Three Springdale students receive QuestBridge matches
Three?Springdale Public Schools?students received four-year college scholarships through the?2022 QuestBridge National College Match?program.
Marcos Cisneros?of?Springdale High School?received a scholarship to attend the?University of Notre Dame?in South Bend, Ind., and?Har-Ber High School's?Luis Macias?and?Joshua Shields?respectively received scholarships to attend?Boston University?in Massachusetts and?Duke University?in Durham, N.C.
QuestBridge is a national program that connects high-achieving high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with full, four-year scholarships at some of the nation’s best colleges, according to a press release by the organization.
The nonprofit selected 5,613 finalists to be considered for the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship out of over 17,900 applicants, according to the release. QuestBridge’s 48 college partners matched with 1,755 finalists this year, who are recognized as Match Scholarship Recipients. This is the highest number of Match Scholarship Recipients to date for QuestBridge.
Match Scholarship Recipients are admitted early to QuestBridge college partners with full, four-year scholarships provided by the colleges and universities, according to the release. Scholarships ensure an education at a top college is affordable for students and their families and cover the full cost of attendance, including tuition, room and board, books and supplies, and travel expenses, according to the release.
