SARPcheck Conducts Three Simultaneous Airline Safety Audits Across Three Continents
SARP Ltd.'s SARPcheck program is currently conducting three parallel safety audits, with an on-site evaluation already underway for a major airline in Saudi Arabia. A second audit is set to begin in Cologne, Germany, on Tuesday, while the first full on-site audit in the Caribbean is scheduled for next week, with its simulator assessment already in progress. The governance body has accredited three audit companies—AEROTHRIVE, Aviation Quality Services (Lufthansa Group), and WAKE (QA) LIMITED—while negotiations with additional airlines continue, offering audits starting at €10,000, with potential insurance subsidies. EU Publishes Part-IS Oversight Approach Guidelines for Aviation Information Security
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has released the Part-IS Oversight Approach Guidelines to support Competent Authorities in overseeing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) within aviation organisations. The guidelines, developed by the Part-IS Implementation Task Force, provide a structured framework for assessing compliance with EU Regulations 2022/1645 and 2023/203, addressing ISMS implementation maturity and proportionality based on organisational complexity. Announced at the Part-IS Implementation Workshop in November 2024, the document aims to harmonise oversight across Member States, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to aviation information security. FAA Conducts Final Evaluation for Thailand’s Aviation Safety Upgrade
A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) delegation is conducting a final evaluation of Thailand’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAAT) to determine if the country’s aviation safety rating can be restored to Category 1. The assessment follows corrective measures taken by CAAT after the FAA downgraded Thailand to Category 2 in 2015 due to 36 unresolved safety concerns, including regulatory oversight and personnel shortages. If the FAA approves the improvements, Thai airlines will regain the ability to operate flights to the United States and expand internationally under the FAA’s International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) framework, with results expected within 30 days. SARPcheck global aviation safety audit: A wet lease, codeshare, ACMI Booster
SARPcheck is a new global aviation safety audit that assesses airline compliance with select ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) across defined ICAO Annexes. The primary aim of this audit is to enhance global flight safety while providing an affordable and accessible tool to facilitate ACMI, wet lease, and codeshare operations. The ICAO Annexes and SARPs that SARPcheck focuses on are specifically those outlined by regulatory and industry standards, including FAA requirements for overseeing foreign air carriers and the TCO approval elements of EASA.
SARPcheck is governed by a London-based not-for-profit organization, the Safety Audit Review Partnership (SARP Ltd.), which accredits Safety Quality Organizations (SQOs) such as AEROTHRIVE to conduct these audits globally. Detailed information about the program, including the SARPcheck Program Manual (SCPM), informative brochures, and the latest updates, is available on our website at https://aerothrive.com/audits/sarpcheck-audits/. For further inquiries or personal assistance, please feel free to send me a message. I'm always happy to help! Lufthansa City Airlines is the global launch customer of SARPcheck.
