Are you committing these three presentation mistakes? Check it out
Mistake #1: Too many words on the slide. Lots of newbie presenters put long sentences ( or whole paragraphs!) on the slide.
The Result: The audience is confused whether to listen to the speaker or read from the slide.
The Solution: Just put a couple of 'cue words' or a short phrase and speak about it. That will come out more naturally.
Mistake #2 : Reading from the slide . The benefit to you as a presenter when you read from your slide is that you forget what to say.
The Result : The big negative is that you are insulting the audience, assuming that they cant read English! What value are you adding by reading what's on the slide?
The Solution: The presentation is for the benefit of the audience. So face the audience and 'present' your ideas. Use the cue word or short phrases approach to help you.
Mistake #3 : Depending on the presentation deck too much. This is another mistake that new presenters do.

The Result : What if things go wrong? Your laptop may not work, there may be a power cut in the venue ..
The Solution: Always have a print of your presentation handy. You can always switch to using a white board / flip chart to write your cue words or short phrases and speak on that.
