We are living at the epitome of uncertainty, facing a seemingly invincible foe and feeling the forces of unprecedented disruption. While the medical fraternity is at the frontline in this battle, scientists are at work to find a solution to the pandemic of COVID-19. And science is doing this with one aim in mind, that is to control the pandemic, in other words, to control the forces of nature. But, if we only come out with an even more sharpened saw of exerting control over nature, we would not have learned our lessons from this pandemic.
I propose today that we must embrace the lessons of this pandemic with the openness of our hearts and open our eyes to the gift this brings. I would like you to read this article from the context of remembrance – that even though our future would not look like anything we would have ever predicted, the principles of nature are PREDICTABLE and KNOWN. My hope is that with equal respect to the "scientific and intuitive" ways of life we would have found the perfect balance and harmony that our world is crying for today. And would create a more conscious society going forward.
To begin with, let’s remind ourselves of 2 Basic laws of Nature. The First law being the “law of cause and effect”. The causes we created in the past, will bring the effects today similarly the causes we create now – will bring about the effects in the future. It is imperative therefore that we start creating the right causes to see the desired results in the future – collectively and individually. And the second law - the law of polarity. According to the Law of Polarity, everything has a dual nature, the two extremes that look like opposites are inseparable – a day does not exist without night, happiness not without sadness, etc. Similarly, if we are at the brink of disease and suffering – it must exist with and together with healing and happiness.
Healing humanity exists parallel to this disease. But how can we access the miracle of healing? I want to bring to the forefront three portals of healing, and go over each one of them in a little detail.
- Healing the Past
- Healing the Future
- Healing the Present
How does one Heal the Past?
By the act of Forgiveness. Forgiveness is the magic pill that creates deep shifts in our psyche and in the relational field we are in. Forgiveness is the most creative and generative force in human nature because when we forgive we move out of one chapter and step into a new chapter of our lives. To preempt any underlying physical conditions from developing in our lives – we must engage in regular acts of forgiveness. In the book – The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz – he offers a perspective – “Forgiveness is the only way to heal. We can choose to forgive because we have compassion for ourselves”.
When we forgive someone who has been the cause of our suffering, we are unconditionally accepting them. And if we can accept those who are the cause of our frustration, anger or even fury – we become an open portal to unconditionally loving the entire humanity. And that brings me to the next step towards the magic of healing...
Healing the Future – for self and for others - How does one do that?
By holding strong intentions at the center of our hearts and sending forward blessings to others as if they have already been healed and lifted from their suffering. In my experience of having recovered from an aneurysm of the pituitary gland, this came spontaneously to me – as I saw a multitude of very sick patients visiting the neurological wards in the hospital I was in – I found my fear looking at their suffering transmute into a deeply felt prayer of "forward-blessings". And the reason I believe this was a magic pill for my healing is that it lifted me out of my suffering, keeping me in moods of curiosity, wonder and love while what I would like to believe - creating a ripple effect in the invisible field I was part of.
Finally, Healing the Present - How does one do that?
The present really should not require healing because every moment is perfect as it is – that is if we remain present to the gift it brings. What fractures it – is our mind’s capacity to jump into the past and future like a ping pong ball without every resting in the now. Healing the Present is living the highest potential of our humanity – which is accessible through a full breath.
Proper breathing also called diaphragmatic breathing, abdominal breathing, or deep belly breathing means air coming in through the nose fully filling up our lungs as our lower belly rises with it. This skill is inborn if you have ever noticed a newborn child. But as adults, we have forgotten it, constricting ourselves to adjust to the demands placed on us. Once we reawaken proper full breath, it allows us to tap into one of our physical body's strongest self-healing mechanisms because it is the lower parts of our lungs where the best oxygen exchange takes place to activate our inner immune system.
To summarize I would like to remind you that it is possible to access the opposite of disease that is healing if we remember to use both the scientific ways and intuitive ways of finding a solution. My hope is that we don’t lose our precious time just awaiting this suffering to end – without taking part in the possibility of individual and collective healing. So please apply the three-way formula by the Act of Forgiveness to Heal the Past, Practising Forward Blessings for Healing the Future for Self and Others, and connecting with your Body and practicing “Full Deeper Breaths” to Heal the Present.
As I finish editing and posting the article, I am amazed to see the polarities emerge on the same land – USA, where Trump antagonized over comments, withdraws funds from the WHO – while Bill Gates pledges to fund more to fight the same fight – and assist other nations while doing so. We can all now see at the grand global scale the starkness of unforgiving, ego-centric and victim-hood leadership and creative, generous and conscious leadership at play! I know which side I lean towards.

4 年So beautiful. Especially the two laws. I can so resonate with the fact that to bring in balance around there is so much we can do. While it may feel out of our hands, the inner world and it's healing is still in our realms. I am going to take some of the lessons and apply in my life. Thank you for putting this together :)
