In the Religion category, the Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima, in Castelo Branco, by the Portuguese architect Plane Humano Arquitecto, is one of the finalists.
In the category House, the studio MJARC Arquitetcos Associados, with Douro Valley House in Marco de Canaveses, is also another Portuguese in the list of finalists.
Miguel Arruda Arquitectos Associados, with the House in Fuzeta, in Olh?o, is a finalist in the Vilas category.
The WAF Awards this year had the largest participation ever, with more than 1000 submissions received from projects located in 81 countries around the world.
On 28 and 30 November in Amsterdam, the pre-selected teams will be invited to present their projects to a jury of more than 100 professionals, who will determine the best within the categories of completed and future projects. These finalists will present to the 2018 Super Jury, which will determine the winners of the 2018 World Building of the Year, Future of the Year Project and Landscaping of the Year.
