The Three Pillars of the Startup

The Three Pillars of the Startup

I work with many Startups presenting each one a unique profile, unique because of the project and/or of the project holder.

However, through my experience, I noticed that the growth of a Startup is based on three things, three pillars that ensure the stability and the growth of the Startup.

These three pillars are the technology, the business, and the motivation. Only these three pillars allow a Startup to grow efficiently.

Indeed, without one of these three pillars, the Startup loses ground.

The motivation is the visionary of the Startup. Often the spirit from which comes the idea, the visionary is the one who infects his entourage with his vision, his dream.

With his vision that helps him every day to do what needs to be done, the visionary is contagious and usually has contaminated the engineer and the businessman.

The engineer is the one that while he listens to the visionary explaining his idea, is already drawing contours of it, revealing its technical aspects and already improving this idea by offering a plethora of options.

Therefore, the engineer feeds the visionary, enriches his vision. Each one of them is the echo to the other one as the dream takes colors, textures, sounds, and becomes as real in their minds.

It is usually at this point that the businessman begins to glimpse how to present this product, to whom and under what circumstances, begins to consider the potential market and already sees consumers using this so innovative product.

In turn he echoes to the dream sharing and quickly the three pillars of the Startup support themselves the vision, the light that will guide the Startup through the dark hours that could wait for it.

Each of these three pillars, beyond the simple amplification of this vision, has a very particular and essential role.

The visionary embodies the personification of the Startup, it represents its heart, he represents its values, and it represents the Why.

The engineer allows the concrete outcome of the dream, he's there to materialize the vision, and it represents the How.

The businessman is here to find financing, to dress up the product from the vision, to present this product to the world, and it represents the What.

Those are these three pillars which may take the form of one or more persons and that are the basis of the Startup.

And as the masts of a ship, these three pillars are the driving force of the Startup.

Knowing the Why, the How and the What, the Startup knows its track.
