Hi y'all,
Hope you're having a good Tuesday so far :)
Just wanted to quickly put the following opportunities on your radar.
If you:
...then this is for you!
Hopefully at least one of them resonates with you. Or you know someone with whom it will (and let them know about it!)
1. How to foster dialogue, community, and climate action at work
If you've been reading my newsletters for a while, you'll know I'm a big fan of both Project Drawdown and All We Can Save . These two are joining forces (dream team) and hosting an event on Thursday, November 18 at 04:30 PM PT to share tangible steps you can take to grow climate engagement where you work.
"All We Can Save Circles offer a self-led framework of 10 sessions designed to nurture connection, encourage generous dialogue, and seed action for climate solutions. Drawdown Labs—a program of Project Drawdown—offers a framework for tactical ways that employees can advance climate action within their company. Together, we’re launching an expanded edition of Circles specifically designed to help you build community and engage more deeply with climate in your workplace."
You can register for the event here .
I plan on going to this - hope to see some of you there!
2. Ten $25,000 prizes for organizations making a big climate impact!
The Keeling Curve Prize is in its 5th year and continues to generously support both for and nonprofit organizations doing amazing climate work with no-strings-attached grants.
They break it down into five categories. Two winners per category. $25,000 for each winner.

If you're part of an organization that is making a huge climate impact and could use the cash, you can apply here!
And if that isn't you, but you know someone who would appreciate knowing about this, send it their way!

3. An awesome new climate organization for people who are over 60 years old
When Bill McKibben talks, I listen. He wrote the first book on climate change for a general audience back in 1988. And co-founded 350.org which has done incredible work in nearly every country around the world.
Bill just launched a new organization called Third Act . It's specifically for Americans who are over 60.
As they put it:
" 'Experienced Americans' are the fastest-growing part of the population: 10,000 people a day pass the 60-year mark. That means that there’s no way to make the changes that must be made to protect our planet and our society unless we bring the power of this group into play.
We’re used to thinking that humans grow more conservative as they age, perhaps because we have more to protect, or simply because we’re used to things the way they are. But our generations saw enormous positive change early in our lives—the civil rights movement, for instance, or the fight to end massive wars or guarantee the rights of women. And now we fear that the promise of those changes may be dying, as the planet heats and inequality grows.
But as a generation we have unprecedented skills and resources that we can bring to bear. Washington and Wall Street have to listen when we speak, because we vote and because we have a large—maybe an overlarge—share of the country’s assets. And many of us have kids and grandkids and great grandkids: we have, in other words, very real reasons to worry and to work."
Again, if you know of anyone who may appreciate knowing about any of these opportunities, please do share it with them!
Take care,
Ryan
