The Three Myths of Workplace Productivity

The Three Myths of Workplace Productivity

“The productivity of work is not the responsibility of the worker but of the manager.” (Peter Drucker)

Many years ago, when I worked in a call center, I witnessed the actual value of workplace productivity.?When poor communication from upper management transformed a highly productive sales department into a fractured workplace, productivity declined.?From this, it became evident that there are three key?Workplace Productivity Myths?that are costing companies millions of dollars, globally.?All these relate to the three key elements of Workplace productivity, environmental productivity, employee engagement, and the execution of personal productivity.??The myths are...

1.???????A Clean Workspace Helps Promote Order and Productivity?– unfortunately the environment can negatively impact productivity through the lighting, colors, office space, noise, and air conditioning.?Leading to absenteeism, presenteeism, and an increase in the cost of sick leave.

2.???????Only Lazy People Procrastinate?– Many managers blame the workers for poor work ethic when often it is an engagement issue, where executives, leaders, and managers fail to build cognitive-based and affect-based trust.

3.???????Multitasking Is Your Best Friend?– The execution of the personal productivity of the company’s leaders is critical for building a workplace where productivity leads to innovation, and an empowered workplace.?This is NOT achieved through multitasking!

If you have experienced these in your workplace, then you will be aware that it can cost your company millions of dollars if you fail to deal with it.?So, as a Workplace Productivity Coach,?I invite you to DM me?about any issue that you may be facing.

I do understand the peace of mind that having a highly creative and productive workforce gives to executives and leaders. This allows you to?get more done in less time, whilst building a more innovative and profitable business and correctly dealing with the many other challenges in the market.??Please?DM me?if there is anything you want to discuss.
