Three lecturers from The CERN Accelerator School were awarded the 2023 Enrico Fermi Prize
CERN Accelerator School - CAS
Training courses on accelerator physics and associated technologies for physicists, engineers, technicians and students.
We are delighted to share that three of our esteemed colleagues and lecturers, Massimo Ferrario , Lucio Rossi , and Frank Zimmermann have been awarded the prestigious 2023 "Enrico Fermi" Prize of the Società Italiana di Fisica .?
Their remarkable achievements in particle acceleration have significantly contributed to the scientific community and have been recognised worldwide.?
Massimo Ferrario's innovative contributions in high-brilliance photoinjectors, FEL physics, and particle acceleration with plasma are truly impressive.?
Lucio Rossi's developments on superconducting magnets and their realisation for the LHC collider and upgrade projects inspire many scientists worldwide.?
Frank Zimmermann's seminal discoveries in beam physics have enabled high-luminosity, high-energy colliders for particle physics, and his contributions to the understanding and modelling various effects related to accelerated electron beams have been of utmost importance for all electron accelerators.?
Their recognition with the "Enrico Fermi" Prize is a testament to their vision, hard work, and dedication.
We are proud that all three of them, have been sharing their expertise as CERN Accelerator School - CAS lecturers, underlining the quality of the courses.
Their achievements inspire us all to strive for excellence in our fields. From CERN Accelerator School - CAS we offer our heartfelt congratulations on their well-deserved recognition, and we wish them continued success in their future endeavours.?
