Do you even have goals?

2024 is just around the corner, and the mere idea of kickstarting a new year gets your blood pumping. This is going to be YOUR year. 2024 is when it will all come together. You're 100% committed to reaching the next level and unlocking your true potential. You know exactly what you want, and you're not going to stop until you get there.

But...isn't that what you said around this time last year?

?

What happened between January 1st, 2022, and now? How did you lose the clarity and conviction you had right before the clock struck midnight?

Somehow, 2023 flew by and now you're right back where you were 12 months ago. Maybe even a little heavier on the scale or a little more in debt. ???

?

Here are three mistakes you might have made in 2023 that you can't afford to make again in 2024:

1. You tried to white-knuckle it

No matter how determined you are on the surface, there's an enemy lurking in your subconscious waiting to undermine you. It knows exactly how to ignore your motivation and long-term goals to focus on what sounds really good right this instant. We're great at fighting external threats, but that subconscious saboteur has a tactical advantage. Discipline is basically the art of beating that voice of compromise, but first you have to understand how to develop discipline.

Discipline is a muscle. Like doing thousands of reps in the gym, once we've made a certain decision over and over, it's easy to make that decision again without hesitating. We've literally rebuilt the synaptic highways in our brain (thank you, neuroplasticity) to make that decision almost effortless. So, once you're used to getting up at 5 AM, it's a lot easier to keep doing it. The question is, how do you get there in the first place? See #2 and #3.

No matter how badly you want to land the plane safely, or reach your goals, it’s probably a good idea to have some professional help.

2. You didn't reinforce your vision

That moment of absolute clarity at 11:59 PM on December 31st, 2022, was powerful, but it was only the first spark. In order to fan that spark into a 30-foot-high bonfire, you need to pour gasoline on it every?day. That gasoline comes in the form of visualization and incremental progress.

First, you have to see it and believe it.

Visualization: One of the interesting quirks of the human mind is that we can blur the lines between our imagination and what we perceive is real. That means that if you intensely picture something in your mind, you will trick your brain into believing it's true. That's critical because we operate on our beliefs. Maybe you already know all about the power of visualization, but how often do actually leverage this cheat code in 2023?

Incremental Progress: Instead of beating ourselves up for not reaching unrealistic goals, we need to be patient enough to value the smallest steps in the right direction. You're just not going to lose 30 pounds in a week no matter how hard you try. Instead, reward your brain with legitimate encouragement every time you lose one ounce. That's how you build momentum.

?3. You tried to do it on your own

By now, most of us have heard Jocko and Goggins talk about the importance of having supernatural discipline. Don't forget, however, that they are the product of extreme discipline training. They were part of a community that maintained incredibly high standards. Day after day for years, they had certain mindsets and habits impressed upon them until those became part of their souls. When their own discipline may have fallen short, they were surrounded by positive social pressure to keep them on the straight and narrow.

They are the product of their training. They were part of an incredible community that cultivated their true potential.

Reaching your goals by yourself is like trying to get out of quicksand by yourself. You probably won’t be as lucky as Adam Driver.

What community is helping you cultivate your potential?

We're social creatures and - unless you're literally a sociopath - positive social pressure is one of the most-powerful tools to help you achieve your goals.

That's why we're launching the #Challenge2024 community on January 1st, 2024. It begins with an intensive 6-week program to snap you into alignment with your goals. The first few weeks are always the hardest, so we'll be with you every single step of the way. We'll begin by clarifying your goals, locking your strategies in, and deciding how to measure your progress.

Then we conquer our weaknesses and our goals day in and day out until success is second-nature.

CAUTION: This program is only for people who are absolutely committed to reaching their goals in 2024. We're not messing around here.

If you want better results than you've ever had in the past, then you're going to have to do something you've never done before.
