Three Generations, One Legacy: A Family's Journey at Butterball
The power of family can forge an unbreakable bond in the most unexpected of places. As Mother's Day approaches, allow me to introduce you to an extraordinary trio: a mother and her two daughters who work side by side to help others succeed at Butterball.?
Meet Monica Ibarra and Cindy Torres, two remarkable individuals who proudly describe their mother, Carmen Requena, as a strong and fearless woman who can accomplish anything she sets her mind to.?
Carmen has worked for over 15 years at our Mount Olive processing plant. In June of 2021, her eldest daughter, Monica, joined the facility and just last month, her youngest daughter, Cindy, was also hired. For them, business is personal.?
Despite holding the title of Training Specialist at work, Carmen humbly admits that her daughters have taught her one of the most valuable skills of all: patience. She credits this skill for helping her tremendously throughout her career. Reflecting on her role, Carmen shares, "I oversee a team of eight trainers responsible for onboarding new hires. We guide them through essential tasks, such as wearing personal protective equipment, handling knives and scissors safely and transporting materials. It's reminiscent of teaching my own children how to navigate life."?
