The Three C's of Building Your Audience

By now, you've probably heard that there are regular people like you and I who have grown enormous audiences on YouTube (and other social content platforms). According to Hank Green, there are over 37,000 creators (the label given to people making content on the web) with over 1 MILLION views per month on YouTube alone! 

So, it wasn't a huge surprise to me that Vidcon - a conference dedicated to the art of online video - was packed with over 26,000 attendees - creators, fans, and businesses scrambling to figure out how they can get a piece of this.

I've been a 'creator' since 2002, though most of my content has been written (up until last November, when I launched Truly Social) and, from what I heard on the panels, the rules that applied to written still apply to video and other visual media.

In this week's video, I cover what I call "The Three C's" - care, consistency, and community - and how applying them will help you build your own audience.

As for me, I'm not aiming for millions of views per month. I truly do love making these videos and enjoy the great feedback I'm getting (as well as the leads they generate...which is a good lesson for a future video).
