Three books to help transform from vision into achievement!

Our founder and CEO is writing a series of three books. The main theme is transforming from vision to achievement.

Introduction

When Mounir started working on an earlier book, he determined it could become massive. Due to its potential size and the diversity of the audience that must hear the messages, publishing as one book was neither practical nor desirable. Therefore, he converted that book into a series; each is designed for a different audience with a different concentration. However, viewing them as an integrated approach (at least the first two) would be helpful for maximum benefit.

The series’ theme is The Need for Transformation, changing mindsets, and breaking away from using the same thinking that has been mostly ineffective. Project management is at the heart of this transformation, an essential set of skills that would help organizations succeed!

Book 1: Vision Realized

The first book, Vision Realized (planned for Jan./Feb. 2025), is for an executive-level audience since organizations must start with the strategic aspects and the founding of a practical project management function.

Organizations cannot transform if executives do not proactively take the lead and ownership to build a robust foundation and the rest of the structure.

Therefore, that book explored various aspects of the current state of practice. Then, we made the case for change and proposed an envisioned future. That book offered a vision and how top executives can realize it.

Book 2: Successful Transformation

The second book is Successful Transformation (Planned for 2Q2025).

Once an organization accepts the future of work, as we envisioned and proposed in Book 1, it would need to establish a transformation program management team (TPMT). Therefore, this second book would be a firsthand guide (a playbook) to help organizations build a sustainable and effective project management function, including the project management unit and organizational project management system, methods, and governance.

Accordingly, the audience of this book would be the team that would lead the transformation initiative (the TPMT) along with the sponsoring executives.

Book 3: Transforming PM Compendium

The first two books are essential for the strategic aspects and suitable for the organizational leadership audience. The third and final book in the series shifts the focus to several topics that require change on the journey to Transforming Project Management.

The Transforming Project Management Compendium discusses methodology, success, certifications, cost, schedule, risk, change, communication, leadership, competency development, etc.

Therefore, this third book is for the team leading the transformation initiative. However, it is also valuable to all project management practitioners regardless of where they work and whether they are part of a project management office or division.

Summary

With this trilogy, we would have addressed this vital topic at the executive, management, and project levels. This is essential for a sustainable transformation!

Other Books

We are also working on another book, Project Management Guide and Terminology. It does not relate to the theme of transformation but offers valuable insights. We will announce in due time.

I’d like to make a contribution to this effort! I understand completely what you’re doing and why, but we can’t forget tools ??. There’s more! We need to address politics, personalities, chemistries, group dynamics and specific problematic components.
