THREADS BY META VERSE AND IT’S FEUD WITH TWITTER

With the ability to publish text, photographs, or videos, as well as like, share, or repost anything, Threads by Meta Verse is eerily similar to Twitter.

Meta introduced the new feature with the initial feature of synching Threads accounts with?

Instagram. Enabling users to keep their usernames and followers. There is also a feature for adding links, images, and videos up to five minutes in duration can all be included in posts that are up to 500 characters long.

A major feature that Threads didn't borrow from Twitter is the ability to message other users directly, but Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that there will be future improvements.

Just a few hours after the app's debut, Zuckerberg posted on it and said: "The team did a terrific job with Thread's first version. There is still a long way to go, but a truly skilful group laid a solid foundation for the app.

In the past reaction to the growing popularity of Snapchat, Meta decided to introduce Instagram "Stories" in 2016, which is a feature in Instagram where user uploads vanish after a certain time.

More recently, the Meta Verse also dived the new short-form video product "Reels" intending to counteract the growth of TikTok.

The introduction of Threads comes in the wake of several controversial decisions made by Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, including a decision to restrict the number of postings that users could view.

Threads. seem to be an exceptional success as the platform greeted a plethora of users of major companies as well as celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian.

However, the app is not yet accessible in the European Union and many other countries due to persistent regulatory issues.

THE FINAL THOUGHT

The main EU privacy authority fined Meta 1.2 billion euros ($1.3 billion) in May for how it handled user data and ordered it to stop sending customers' data to the US.

Although Threads is not yet available to all users, the feud with Twitter and its owner Elon Musk, along with several other conspiracies, has garnered a lot of attention.
