Threadless acquires Bucketfeet!

It’s an exciting day here at our company. We just acquired and joined forces with made-to-order shoe brand, Bucketfeet! Just like us, Bucketfeet’s mission is to support artists, giving them a platform to sell their designs on footwear. And they’ve done a killer job, selling over 1M shoes! Bucketfeet has been making serious strides (no pun intended) since 2011, and we couldn’t be happier to have them join us here at Threadless.

This addition means a few things for our company and a few exciting new opportunities for our community. First and foremost, we’re welcoming an entirely new artist community from Bucketfeet into Threadless; meaning there will be even more artists to discover. And yes, it also means that - *drum roll* - we will be expanding our product catalog to include shoes. Now, you can support artists by wearing their art on your feet!

Don’t worry; the Bucketfeet brand isn’t going anywhere. Their website will be fully shoppable through the holidays, but in the coming months you will see our brands fusing more and more. We’ll be launching a few shoe design challenges in the next few weeks and kicking off next year, we plan on integrating footwear into both Threadless and Artist Shops.

Threadless was founded in 2000 to support independent artists through apparel and Bucketfeet was founded in 2011 to support independent artists through footwear. By combining our communities and resources, we’re giving artists a whole new way to feature their art and to do what Threadless has always set out to do: make great together.
