Welcome back to our Thread Heads series! As we continue celebrating the remarkable individuals behind HiEnd Accents, we’re thrilled to bring you the third edition of this series. This time, we’re putting the spotlight on Renei Baaco, our dedicated Email Marketing Specialist.

In this edition, Renei takes us through her career journey—from her beginnings as a local government Budgeting Officer to her pivotal role in email marketing at HiEnd Accents. But there’s more to Renei than her professional achievements. In this interview, she also shares how her love for design, travel, and culinary adventures fuels her creativity and enriches her work.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your professional background and what led you to your current field?

A: I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy and worked as a Budgeting Officer for my local government unit for five years. I have always had an affinity for design and systems. So, during the lockdown, I explored other opportunities to learn and earn more. I enrolled in an online course on Klaviyo Email Marketing and found it appealing because it involved design, systems, and strategy. I created my own portfolio with my designs and developed Klaviyo mockups to submit for potential work. Fortunately, HiEnd Accents, my first company in this field, accepted me even though I was a beginner.

Q: What were some of the most valuable experiences or lessons from your previous roles that you've brought to HiEnd Accents?

A: I always make it a point to deliver top-quality output and seek out multiple solutions to a problem, going beyond the typical and obvious. I believe these qualities have served me well in my work here at HiEnd Accents.

Q: In what ways do you feel that your work contributes to the company's mission and overall success?

A: Email marketing is a piece of the pie in driving conversions and communicating the value of our products to customers. While it's just one piece, I can see the positive growth I've contributed quarter over quarter and year over year, and I've realized that I made it possible.

Q: Looking forward, what are you most excited about in the future of HiEnd Accents?

A: I'm excited to grow with the company and to see how far we can go in bringing value to our customers and partners.

Q: Who has been the most significant mentor or influence in your career, and why?

A: My dad. He was very hardworking, kind, and resourceful. He was good at building things. He influenced me to also be resourceful with what I can do and to never settle, which I believe was a significant factor in my leap from my previous career to my current one.

Q: Outside of work, what are your hobbies or interests?

A: I like traveling and trying new things! See photos below ??

Q: How do you like to unwind or manage stress after a busy period at work?

A: Food trip! I like to try new cuisines but I also have my staple comfort food.

Q: If you could learn something new or pick up a new skill, what would it be and why?

A: I've always wanted to learn free diving! The beach is near our city, and I would love to find out how long I can dive without breathing LOL

Q: Can you share a memorable travel experience or a place you'd love to visit?

A: I have always wanted to go to Scotland because of the series 'Outlander.' I would love to see the vast green scenery and travel through the countryside by train.

Q: Finally, what is your favorite HiEnd Accents product?

A: The Lyocell Quilt in sage.

Of course, since my city is close to a nearby island, I enjoy going to the beach! I also love traveling. Last year, we visited Northern Blossom in Benguet, where you can see beautiful clouds and mountains from the highest point.
