Thousands of Uber and Lyft divers are striking on Valentine’s Day

Whether you plan on dining out for Valentine’s Day, or enjoying the comforts of your own home alongside some takeout, you may find that ride-share and delivery drivers have another idea in mind — a nationwide strike.

Thousands of Uber and Lyft drivers across the country have planned to protest declining pay and safety concerns today by refusing to drive on a day where there’s usually higher demand.

Although the strike, announced on Monday, has been gaining some public attention, it seems to have remained higher in interest to the media, as 10k engagements to over 1k articles is a relatively low level of public interest.

In the UK, drivers are also set to strike or halt work for a few hours, and while the BBC reported it could involve 3,000 drivers compared to 130,000 in the US, it’s actually articles from UK publications that are driving the public’s interest to the strikes in general. BBC has received 1.1k engagements to its article, and on TikTok ITV News has garnered over 44.4k engagements to its video.

The Super Bowl ads that won attention

Super Bowl coverage begins ramping up in early Feb, so we looked at the top stories about Super Bowl ads from the week before the big game, with data accurate as of Monday afternoon for all of the analysis in our report.

Dunkin’ was last year’s most successful ad in terms of media and public interest, and that was true again this year as it dominated the top stories.

This isn’t the first time that Dunkin’ and Ben Affleck have teamed up, but this year the actor was joined by several other big names, including his wife Jennifer Lopez. There were four top stories about Dunkin’s ad and they collectively scored over 127k engagements.

FanDuel also saw its ad mentioned multiple times in the top 10 for its tribute to Carl Weathers, and religious messaging returned to the Super Bowl once again with the “He gets us” Jesus commercial earning notable attention.

You can read about other ads from brands that won attention, such as Verizon, Cetaphil, Budweiser, and more in our full report.

I absolutely agree 18.00 orders and we get paid 2.00 then half the time the customer removes the tip as soon as they get their order and a lot of discrimination from customers?

The Uber company are theives. They play games with their drivers they bait them in with low fares and a possibility of a tip for each ride. Its a scam and they should be sued for billions
