Thousands of dead fish found around Bengaluru's Ulsoor lake
housands of dead fish washed up on the banks of the popular Ulsoor lake in Bengaluru today.
Residents of Bengaluru, who are struggling hard to clean up the city's polluted lakes, were left in a state of shock after the incident came to light.
The reason for the sudden death of thousands of fish remains unknown.
Ulsoor lake, a tourism hotspot and a popular boating site, has for many years been choked with water hyacinth and the government has been making efforts to clear it.
A few months ago, toxic froth had taken over Bengaluru's streets due to extreme levels of pollution in Bellandur Lake. The periodic water sampling of the lake waters had revealed extremely high amounts of phosphorous and other inorganic chemical compounds.

9 年I really share your concerns about lake pollution and fish death in Bangalore. But what I do not understand is "the ignorance of the people of Bangalore, who are struggling hard to save the lakes of the city, about the reasons for this ecological disaster. Any meaningful attempt for ecological protection should be supported by a good knowledge of ecosystem dynamic.
