Today, I find myself feeling a bit troubled
Somewhat uneasy, a bit out of sorts
It is interesting to attempt to diagnose our own stress
Where is its true inception?
Am I looking at symptoms or the underlying cause?
Part of this seems to stem from a change in my routine
As I have been focusing time on a deadline driven project, it is pulling me away from writing
While I feel a sense of withdrawal, I am trying to remind myself that changing pace on occasion is healthy
I’ve also noticed I feel a bit overwhelmed
As this separate project takes up more bandwidth, it feels my different roles are fighting each other
That there is not enough time to give each role its due
I find myself in a scarcity mindset, but this awareness is the first step to addressing it
Prioritization is difficult, but the process will provide an opportunity to learn
It is okay to feel out of sorts
It is a data point to embrace, rather than deny
With a better understanding, I can make adjustments that create synergy between my roles
“I did not get to work on my writing as much as I’d liked to”
Again, a good data point
More than anything, I am trying to remind myself of this today:
Our stress, our anxiety, our internal trouble provide insight
What we label as negative feelings, provide extremely valuable information
Rather than denying, distracting, or hiding from this angst, explore it
Diagnose it
What is really troubling you?
What can you do about it?
Your emotions exist for a reason
What are they trying to tell you?
Tuesday?—?08–06–2024?—?The Vortex
Do you ever feel like your life is going in a circle?
Stuck in habit patterns, feedback loops that aren’t serving you?
Yet, you can’t seem to break out of this cycle
You keep doing the same thing, without understanding why?
It can feel as if you are powerless to change
So why try?
Welcome to the Vortex
It is a scary place to be
The Vortex can create learned helplessness

But you are capable of pushing out of the current
You can break out of this Vortex
It can be used to your advantage
What Vortex have you fallen into yourself?
What Vortex are you getting yourself out of?

Friday?—?08–09–2024?—?Out of the Cage
How often you we keep yourself locked within a mental cage
Unwilling to let go of external stimulation, that really serves as distraction
For myself, I find that I escape in an audiobook at the gym
Sure, there are benefits I get from listening to educational content
But is it serving me in its intended purpose?
I’ve felt stuck in the same motion, without forward progress?
What if I tried something else?
It is time to change my routine?
To deal with the withdrawal of external escape
In order to move myself forward, I must unlock my own cage
Letting out the animal inside me
My frustrations, my anger, my rage
Breathe
See the light
Let it go, by letting it out?

Now, we begin again
I look forward to sharing new insights, perspectives, and reflections
The Thought of the Day will continue to have a varied cadence
As I work through this project, I will look find a better balance with my writing
A better synergy between my time, my roles, and my prioritization?
