A lot more service providers are rightly focusing on public cloud workloads as hybrid cloud takes hold. We started seeing this with VM lift and shift about 6-7 years ago, but, over time a lot of those workloads returned to private or hosted platforms.
We are now seeing more SaaS based applications which takes control and management away from service providers to a certain extent continuing to become popular with organizations...
This is a natural progression from workloads on VMs on either private/hosted/public cloud.
The application drives the location of the workload and ultimately that data.
Service Providers are adapting to Cloud as they should… but they can also still generate infrastructure and services revenue without needing to pivot too hard.
Management platforms for service providers are becoming crucial in addition to traditional software and platforms.
Some exciting things coming from Veeam Software in our next platform updates to enable cloud and service providers to broaden their service offerings around public/private/hosted cloud.
