THOUGHTS ON THE RIO OLYMPICS
I have been to Brazil a number of times over the years and have seen the beauty of the country, the friendliness and happiness of the people and the great mix of cultures that is there. The Olympics began under a cloud of possible crime, infections, inability to carry it off, but the Brazilians did a fantastic job. On a budget smaller than any in recent history the games were carried out in an atmosphere of world friendship, sportsmanship and efficiency. Sure there were a few blips, some of which were not the fault of Rio at all and they have some problems, just as we do. But the last 2 weeks were some of the most enjoyable to me in a very long time. Thank you RIO!

8 年Yes! Yes! Yes! Despite daily fatalistic articles written by "experts" in the months leading to RIO 2016 Brazil gave us many spectacular days and another proof that sport, as much as art, bring about our deeply rooted desire and longing for friendship, healthy competition and symbiotic coexistence. Moreover, the vast majority of modern Olympic Games show all of us that divisions, animosities, hatred and atrocities are man-made, intentional barriers created by closed minded elements of human race. Until next time!
