One of my mentees asked me a question about meditation, and it was great to reflect on my meditation journey.
As a neurodivergent human ???, I find meditation quite challenging. I've tried different types of meditation, and I have now reached a point where I’ve found what works for me. I’m not 100% disciplined, and sometimes my brain still wanders like crazy ??, but I do it anyway!
?? How I Started
I have explored different meditations at various stages of my life. When I have a specific situation I want to meditate on, I go on YouTube, type in "xxx meditation", and pick one to listen to.
There was a time in my life when I was hurt ??, and I went through Louise Hay’s forgiveness meditation every day for weeks until the feeling was gone (with support from other therapeutic practices).
A guided meditation that helped me build consistency is 21 Days of Abundance by Deepak Chopra ??. I listened to a different audio every day—or several times per day. The first time I did it, I was part of a group ??, and we kept each other accountable. I started on the first day of the month to make it easier to remember which day I was on. #NDhacks
?? What I Do Now
When I wake up, still in bed, ?? (and sometimes before bed ??), I reflect on what I am grateful for and what I am proud of from the day before.
I then go on YouTube and pick a short (10–15 min) meditation to listen to ??. My YouTube algorithm is amazing—it now suggests a meditation every morning. Sometimes, it feels like it reads my mind and gives me exactly what I need in the moment! ??
After that, I go through my list of "choices" (things I want to create in my life) and visualize how they look and feel. ??
These are the first 30–40 minutes of my morning.
I also participate in breathwork, impro dance and other kinds of activities that involve diverse forms of meditation.
Different methods work for different people, and I’d love to hear about your journey. Feel free to share in the comments! ????

3 周I meditate daily! For me meditation is just about finding peace in the day, it’s actually one of my favourite parts of the day! And all this despite being a person who doesn’t visual or see anythign once my eyes close, just darkness - but I know the benefits as they show up unconciously throughout my life & I continue to show up every day to make it who I am ??
