Thoughts about current situation
This is third quarantine, this time is more a joke than anything else.
You don’t have to a virologist expert to know that closed places and a crowd of people
are big factors to the spread of the disease, if so, why all the school system remain open.
First the minister of education, tells the medical experts, who are the experts in corona and recommend to close, that they are employees. This minister does not want to hear the advice of the experts and is acting like somebody that lacks intelligent. Then a lot of other people, starting from members of the Knesset(parliament), if I recalled well from the education commission, tells that the school system has to remain open giving up to the pressure of the parents. Why is that because in another two or three months there will be elections and they know that the parents want the schools to remain open.
The head of the corona in the Knesset during all her cadence denied the dangerous of this epidemy, brings a doctor that also denies it and this doctor says that only people that are above 80 and has less than two months to live, die from corona. This head of the corona commission, who was an unknown person without a record before, becomes a star, and a new prime minister candidate chooses her as his second person in his election ticket; what does it tell about him but more what does it tell about us as a society…
I know that is not easy to have the children at home, but this is a little sacrifice that need to be done to save people life.
Two things are really important in times like this:
1. Example from the leadership
2. All the citizens are bound by the same law, it can not be that ones has a special treatment while the others take all the burden.
1. Example: A true leader leads by doing what he knows that is best for its people, not what the people want.
This remind me the phrase : “ the face of the leaders is like the face of the dog and the truth is absent” .The first part alludes that like the dog, when it gets to the street corner waits for his owner to know where he wants to go, the leaders(politicians) do what the people want and not what it is required.
2. No one is above the law, no matter what. If you desire to close all the education system, you should close all the ultra orthodox institutions too, not just because it is very dangerous to them (and to all) but also because of the example that is being set.
This reminds me the story of a guy that rent a room in a ship and begin to drill the floor of it, water begin to poor in, the captain comes and ask him what are you doing, he says: it is my room and I do want I want here, the captain then tells him: fool, you are flooding all of us…
We don’t need politicians that do what the people want, specially when it is against the general good, but true leaders the ones that lead by example and do the right things for the people.
Like prime minister of New Zeland @Jacinda Arden, and others like her.
Something is rotten in our political system, parties that represent a group of people, that do not come to make this a better society for all of us but to defend the interests of its sector.
Many questions need to be addressed like how to include in the work force minorities, how to provide them with better education, to tell today that math and English are forbidden to be learnt is to condemn the groups that are being represented by this to poverty and ignorance.
May be this is the real reason that the people that rule these groups want them to remain ignorant and poor, to rule them and to keep them dependent.
If you ask me why I am talking about this because people are dying from corona, and because it is not moral to remain untouched and selfish.
We live in a world that is interconnected what someone does impacts not just here but everywhere.
A lot of people lost their jobs and a lot of business close, the government has to do something about it, not just to place a band aid.
There a lot of good and decent people in the country, like doctors, scientists and people from all walk of life that could help this change to be possible.
I would love to hear what you think

4 年David Rowland, what do you think why some people do not want to follow health expert recommendations to avoid corona, and why politicians and majors do not enforce these recommendations. Do you think that all of this is because people are selfish or may be there are other causes? Why authorities do not enforce rules , are they fearing on public backlash in nearby elections more than the spread of the disease.

4 年Howard WHITTON, do you think that people's behavior ignoring safety rules like wearing masks and keeping social distance, and also asking for the school system to remain open during a time of high pandemic spread it is corruption? And what about political figures and town majors that want to keep the school system open, out of fear of angering people, (elections very soon will take place) even though the health experts advice otherwise? Now we are not talking about stealing public money or getting bribes but on a behavior that can cost human life.
