?? Thoughts on Community

When we talk about community support, our minds usually go to non-profit organizations, but IRG Physical & Hand Therapy, a locally owned and operated for-profit, has been actively fostering community for the greater good. IRG's approach to supporting the community is multi-faceted, and it is led by Shannon O'Kelley, MPT, the company's President & CEO, who believes in investing in the community and has found that doing so also supports the business.?

IRG's commitment to giving back is ingrained in its organizational culture. Alex McGinity, the Chief Development Officer at IRG, shared that generosity has grown within the company, and he attributes it all to Shannon and his mindset.?

IRG's support for the community includes paying its employees for the volunteer work they do. Alex shared that IRG is supporting its employees by encouraging and facilitating their passion for volunteering with their favorite organizations and causes.?

During the holiday season, each of IRG's 30 clinics selects an organization to support with a gift drive, and clients and community members can also participate. For this year's drive, the Administrative building in Mill Creek has chosen to conduct a gift drive for the Second Chance Foundation, which provides mentorship, education, scholarships, and support to formerly incarcerated and homeless individuals.?

IRG also supports the community by providing athletic training and wellness programs, often at low cost or free of charge. Additionally, they host an annual golf tournament, with proceeds going to Imagine Children's Museum and Children's Services at the Providence General Foundation.?

IRG's commitment to the community benefits everyone involved. Employees get paid to support organizations they care about, and non-profit organizations and communities get the support they need to thrive. The business, in turn, benefits from the resulting goodwill, increased employee retention, and morale. It seems like a win-win-win situation for everyone.
