Thoughts on 2023…

2023 will be a milestone year for Mercer Mettl,?my gut is we will see a much higher growth in 2023 than even 2022 (where we grew high double digits!).

The only catch is that we will have to work lot harder & smarter this year. Few directional changes we intend to bring about this year ...

  • We would be far more Execution driven and Outcome oriented in 2023 than 2022.
  • We will increase our investment in understanding our Customer‘s talent needs better so that we can uniquely solve for them. The entire organisation will measured on the count and quality of customer engagements.
  • Right people on the right task without disruption is the secret sauce behind growth companies. We will prioritise people decisions in 2023. Senior leader will be closely measured on their ability to hire quick and develop / retain the right talent (& let go of passengers ! Term borrowed from the book -“Amp it up”)??
  • Last but not the least, we will infuse a sense of urgency in everything we do. 2023 is predicted to be a year full of tumultuous twists and turns and it will come down to how hard you play and how badly you want it.

On the personal front, there were two things which I felt made me less effective. First one was sweating every issue?that caught my attention and the second was a slightly reduced attention span. Planning some corrective actions to address these.

Dengue followed by the Virus made sure that my health took a beating in 2022. Hence the first (declared) resolution of 2023 is to hire a coach and train hard under supervision.

Writing helps me think better, hence will be sharing more on LinkedIn in 2023. Hope I get reactions, comments and help to keep learning.
