As I take some time out this morning and sit down by the canal, I have been reflecting on some of the books that have inspired me over the years. My thoughts turn to that amazing book written many years ago by Susan Jeffers called " Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway ". When I have a wobble in my confidence or I need to step out of my comfort zone I find myself returning to this little book again and again. The wisdom and frankness expressed by the author is refreshing, so I thought I would summarize the main points of the book here ;
Overall, the book suggests that fear is a natural part of life, but it doesn't have to control us. By reframing fear as an opportunity for growth, taking action, trusting in ourselves, practicing positive affirmations, and living in the present moment, we can overcome our fears and live a more fulfilling life.
I have recommended this book to many friends and clients, as this book has helped me enormously. It's well worth a read.
Interesting thought. And as they say...."all progress takes place outside the comfort zone". We need to get comfortable being uncomfortable in order to grow...

1 年Good action focused framework for dealing with natural everyday fears Maurice . More deeply imbedded stresses , anxieties and trauma related fears need a more intensive measured approach- my experience but walking towards the issues is always a prerequisite for dealing with any fear - described recently as Future Events Appearing Real Thank you for sharing

1 年Lovely article, Maurice. This book was one of Mom's favourites, and she would quote it constantly, to the point at which I felt like I'd read it myself!
