A Thought for Soul
Every now and then we come across a post or a gif or comic strip mocking year 2020. Like one I saw yesterday -
One day 2020 will be one-word Catch Phrase for everything messed up. "Hows your day?", "A total 2020.", "say no more."
Indeed a lot is going on in everyone life around this pandemic. There is anxiety of loosing job. There is fear of getting COVID19. There is labor of keeping relevant, learning new technologies. There is anger, that strange ball of fire of passive-aggressiveness that you never though you had in you. There is boredom of the same routine.Yet, there is that effort to bring something new in life despite being confined to one place. Oh! There is disparity; and yet the warmth of being with your loved ones.
But in all this, one thing is for sure, 2020 is the year that pushed you closer to yourself. The real you. it pushed you to see your fear. It pushed you to innovate. It pushed you to seek a way to thrive despite the world going upside down. It pushed you to acknowledge your limiting beliefs and potential in you. Its pushed you realize it all.
Surely, right now, what this year is - is not clear. For now it seems like a curse to some and punishment to others.I dont know if its either of those, all I know is its surely pushing us to our limit - either to break or make us. And if that is the case, at end of all this, its highly possible that we will be right where we wanted to be or were just dreaming to be. Its a year that has made us courageous.
So dont sit tight, breathe in, and look into that fear and plan to go beyond it. If you fail, fail to learn from it and make new path. If you succeed, create opportunities for others or the least become that inspiration that you used to follow on Insta or LinkedIn. Take a chance and look within, for when you look back - "A total 2020" might mean something better.

4 年I think this year is testing our patience, we are in touch with our wellvisors but not able to to meet them, Works likely to be get finished, have not even started because it is not possible to travel, Might be a limit on our expectation by nature. But there is no doubt that year is bring us near to ourselves because most of the time we are alone.

4 年That's a great lens to view 2020 positively. Disappointments are associated with expectations that we set. When we set ourselves free of those expectations and are open to new experiences, new learning, will help us coin the new "total 2020". Good one Sonam!

4 年Those are beautiful thoughts Sonam. Thank you for writing such a positive perspective on the year. 2020 is certainly pushing me towards that which I've wanted to become!
