Thought RVs

This is a reflection on "thought trains".

While watching a video by my speaker friend James Taylor I had the thought: "I really do prefer to do in-person speeches vs doing virtual speeches."

That led me to the thought: “Can’t virtual speeches be done to feel more real?"

Which led to the idea of doing: A virtual speech where everyone is out walking in a beautiful place in nature while all having attached a selfie stick to their belt so that everyone can see each other walking in beautiful places. (If you are interested in booking

That made me reflect on the words: "Reality Virtually vs Virtual Reality."

Which made me think of the letter combinations of "VR - RV"

RV stands for Recreational Vehicle.

But VR stands for Virtual Reality.

Which led to the question: Perhaps we are missing the point with what VR is?

What if the “R” also stands for “Recreational” (just like in RV) not “Reality”?

Then this insight came: Then the focus could be more on inventing new ways of having fun, not new ways of trying to create reality.

Recreational, after all, means "an activity done for enjoyment.”

Then my thought jumped from "Recreational Vehicle” to “Train” by my mind asking this question: “Why is it called a “Train of thought” when thought-trains like this are often very random and all over the place? They are not at all stuck to “tracks” like trains…

They should be called “Thought RVs”!

Since an RV can go on the road, but the whole purpose of them is to go where your ideas take you!
