Thought Provoking Books
Although recruitment is our core business I like to share other thought provoking and hopefully motivational articles.
Sometimes we face situations we can't anticipate that can turn our world upside down and lead to a great deal of uncertainty and ongoing stress and the current Covid-19 crisis is no different.
Having started Right International over 25 years I've encountered many challenging and tough personal and financial situations but somehow, I've always managed to find a way through.
How we respond and react to certain situation can greatly influence what happens next.
Many years ago, my Dad introduced me to a range of personal development gurus of their time and really many of their core principles haven’t really changed, although they've been packaged and marketed differently.
I've listed some books that have helped me along the way that I regularly go back to (Tip highlight/underline key points – easier to refer to).
How to Win Friends and Influence People – Dale Carnegie
Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill
Awaken the Giant Within – Tony Robbins – additional video – Focus on Yourself
The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari – Robin Sharma
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Stephen Covey (I had the pleasure of meeting Stephen several years age, he was a real gentleman and a very humble individual)
If you’ve not read these before, they’re worth checking out.
P.S - I'm not getting any royalties just thought I'd share ??
What books have inspired or motivated you? Please let me know it would be great to share.
Stay positive and safe.
All the best,
Gary

Strategic and transformative leader delivering profitable growth initiatives
4 年Hi Gary Having read a number of life and leadership books in lockdown, I can recommend: - Leadership Strategy and Tactics:?Field Manual?by Jocko Willink - High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard - Everything?is F*cked: A Book About Hope by Mark Manson I've just started 'The Daily Stoic' by Ryan Holiday. If you haven't already heard of him or read one of his books, I would highly recommend taking a look. His general theme is about how to be a good human being and has been described as "leading the charge for stoicism". Very thought provoking. Check him out.
