'Thought Leadership Now' - #5
Alex McNab-Lundb?ck
Keynote Speaker, Communications Coach, Ghostwriter & Children’s Author - Helping leaders maximise their potential through Confident Communication. Leadership Communications.
Welcome to this week's edition of 'Thought Leadership Now'.
Yes.. it is still called 'Thought Leadership Now' despite my recent musings on changing my use of the term in how I am presenting myself and my offers.
Next week I will announce the new 'sub-brand' of this newsletter and soon to launch Podcast, and at that point all will be revealed on how and why I am positioning myself going forward.

Post(s) of the week
This week I am actually going to be a bit cheeky and feature two Posts of the Week.
The reason being is that the first is a favor and offer.
1st Post of the week:
'Impoliteness' is a part of communication that we've all experienced at some point right?
But what is considered rude, or impolite, for one culture or individual, might not be for someone else.
I'm always keen to support research into different forms of communication and how we all communicate, particularly between cultures.
Therefore, if you have some time, Nicola McNab (full disclosure, my Sister), is conducting some important research on how we communicate and the impacts of impolite or rude language.
The survey is only about 20 minutes long, and you even get to watch some Reality TV!
Furthermore - if you complete it and send me a DM or comment to this newsletter letting me know you've completed and a screenshot of the final page, then I'm offering a free hour Communications 'Ask me Anything' session as a 'Thank You'.
Let me help you with PR advice, career advice, or communications coaching - all for 20 minutes of your time filling out a survey.
Even better if you can also share the post / survey to others in your network so we can get as in depth research as possible.
For today's second post of the week, it also forms a hybrid approach of Post AND podcast (but there is still Podcast Episode of the week below).
This post, from Matt Zaun caught my eye as it focuses on Richard Branson 's approach when it comes to storytelling and meeting with his executive team 'in person'.
The post itself is more about doing things 'In Person' whenever it makes sense to do so. Don't worry though, it's not a call for everyone to return to the office but just suggest in-person meetings can be hugely beneficial and links to a podcast episode of his where he discusses this further.

PR Tip of the Week
For this week's PR Tip of the week I am going to lean on the inspired words of Josh Wheeler who recently posted about the Do's and Don't of Broadcast PR vs Print PR.
Some super good advice generally on how pretty much every pitch should be tailored, but even more so when it comes to different mediums.
Radio is different from TV too, so tailor your approach.
Podcast of the Week
For this week's Podcast Episode // series of the week I stick with stories from the US, with Matt Abrahams 'Think Fast, Talk Smart'.
The podcast, via relatively brief (30 minute) conversations with his guests, provides tools, techniques, and best practices to help you communicate more effectively in a variety of different ways.
However, one particular episode I particularly enjoyed was largely about the psychology of filler words and how and why we use them.
It was a great listen if you are interested in the history and psychology around communication - which I am increasingly becoming so.
I'm now working my way through some of the other episodes in the series, and might even pick up his latest book that is based around the podcast.
Podcast Guest?
Once again I'd like to mention that I am in the planning stages of creating a Podcast of my own. The brand name of which will be revealed next week.
The concept however is still about unearthing stories from fascinating people, through organic conversation.
I'd love to get some more ideas for Guests.
So many of you reached out actually last week and I already have a few lined up, but who else should I be talking to?
and finally...
As always, finally just a shout out to any Leader who knows they are struggling with communication whether that be communicating their brand, their message, or their stories. Let me help.
Send me a DM if, like dozens of people who I've had the pleasure of working with this year, I can help you communicate better.
As always, subscribe to this Newsletter if you enjoyed todays issue - and share if your contacts would also benefit and enjoy my weekly words of wisdom.
