The Thought Leader

Thoughts are the beginning of any actualization for a human being. Actualization is anything that is made as actual or real by a human being. Thoughts need a home or a space to express itself for constructive change.

Passive thought leadership:

A passive thought leader is one who drives his thoughts with actions in an unobtrusive manner for the organisation, society and self. His efforts are unnoticed and not given the official recognition for this. A passive thought leader works within the inner circle of an organization quite casually and naturally bringing overt change within the organisation by simply adhering to high moral standards for achieving certain goals for the organisation, society and self.

A passive thought leader could be working in any layer of the organisation or in any business. He operates in a concealed way for certain personal and/or professional reasons. These reasons may include that this thought leader would rather work from behind the scenes rather than being noticed amongst others. They are self-motivated and work towards organisational, societal and self-nurturing reasons.

A passive thought leader can adapt his leadership style with ease whether he is in the frontline or back office.

The passive thought leader does not demand recognition.

Passive thought leaders may have never been called a thought leader but are naturally it and are present in most organisations, quite unnoticed yet propelling organisational, societal and self for growth.

They are on a self-generated fast-track for personal development usually. The passive thought leader could have a few key people who depend on his/her thought leadership for the implementation of change. The purpose of a passive thought leader is to mould others and in-turn develops the self as a bi-product of organisational and societal change.

The term ‘thought leader’ is not a glorified title but a disposition of certain members of organisations and society with an integrated conscience

Active thought leadership

The active thought leader does not demand recognition yet is recognised by larger bodies.Active thought leaders are present in most organisations, quite noticeably and are assigned the role of a change agent to propel organisational, societal and self for growth.

Since they are self-motivated they are usually put on a fast track usually for personal and professional development.

The active thought leader has key people who depend on his/her thought leadership for bringing about change. The purpose of an active thought leader is to mould others and obviously develop the self as a part of organisational and societal change.

The term ‘thought leader’ is used to bring recognition to the member of an organisation as a leader for adhering to the virtuous cycle with an integrated consciousness for authentic discernment and the actualisation of creative behaviour towards ?organisational, societal and self-nurturing change?growth.?

Proactive Thought Leadership:

Proactive Thought Leadership is a combination of passive and active thought leadership as a change agent.

There are certain areas of focus within an organisation and society that could require a combined approach. A subjective interface and an objective interface is required to bring about change where certain actions are noticed and others unnoticed while both bring overt change into the organisation and society. Even though a proactive thought leader is predominantly active, as they have been given a formal responsibility for this – they also take on informal responsibilities towards change in their layer of the organisation and society – and/or other layers of the organisation and society. They develop inner and outer circles equally and as effectively as the other, without letting one take precedence over the other. Even though their formal responsibilities are exposed, their interpersonal leadership with one other is concealed and does not demand recognition. A proactive thought leader has flexible expression in both interfaces.

The proactive thought leader does not demand recognition however recognitions follow him in responsible organisations and a responsible society.

The term ‘proactive’ is because thought leaders are in fact change agents when they have limitless ways of expression to bring about change. ‘Proactive’ means anticipating events and taking initiative within permissible limits. The proactive thought leader recognises that with any change there are rights and opportunities within change alongside limitations and boundaries they need to stay within. It is within those boundaries that they are limitless in expression. For example; when a large organisation as per company leave policy gives staff one month annual leave – the proactive thought leader takes this policy constructively by staying within the thirty days at a time when business efficiency is not compromised. This is a simple example which happens all the time, yet the proactive thought leader has thought through this and has set a leave calendar over the year with all permissions taken at the beginning of the year with the allowance of alterations in schedule dependent on business requirements and leave requirements – that keeps a balance between the two.?

What sets a proactive thought leader apart is the task well executed favouring the organisation, society and self with an integrated consciousness, authentic discernment and creative behaviour – with its strive and/or achievement of a perfect leave schedule that had been well handled consistently year after year and displaying this effectiveness in most, if not all, areas that determine work towards their organisation, society and self.

A thought leader develops a personal brand in the process that ties in the moral standards they stand for.?
