Thought it was dead but it's coming back to life

The eBay seller sat back on his chair. Why does the Government have to bring out Brexit now? They had just been through a lockdown, and with the items that were sold in their eBay shop, no one would have any interest in them until after the lockdown. That means the sales would drop again. November and December were the months that they made huge profits, and it was all about to go up a massive puff of smoke due to the Government. The last time Brexit went on for six months, the population was terrified of what would happen next. They kept their credit cards firmly in their wallets and purses.

The day the lockdown ended, suddenly sales started again; they had been turning over just over £20 a day, hardly enough to pay for anything. The lockdown had ended, and the population had got their credit cards out. But now the stupid Government was talking about Brexit. It was about to kill the business again. No one knew what was happening or what the effect was going to be. The negative people were predicting the latest disaster, so of course, the credit cards had gone back into hibernation.

Then suddenly, it was as if the population had put two fingers up to Boris. They started spending money again. The emails started coming into the inbox with a ping, and not only that, but it kept ongoing. Christmas was on, we had to follow these stupid rules about social distancing, but the population no longer cared; it was nearly Christmas. The thought about how it would be in January was worrying, but now people had started spending, which was the most crucial part.

Then Boris did it again, went to dinner with the head of the EU to sort out Brexit; it was a disaster. The photographs were taken before the event. Boris looked like a tramp stuffing his face full of food. The two EU representatives were smart and ready for a working dinner. The news came back Boris had failed. The effect next morning complete silence. No emails, nothing. The Christmas spirit had gone. People are back to worrying about the money in their pocket.

What will happen next? Well, Sunday is the deciding day of what is going to happen with Brexit. Until then, people will keep their credit cards in their pockets. But once they know what will happen, they will spend a bit, but they will be concerned about the money and what will happen in the new year.

But I hope no matter what happens that everyone has a magical Christmas. We all deserve a rest and put our feet up for a few days.
