Today's Challenge ~ Tell your stories, listen to someone else's story. Give them your undivided attention.
?
Always do your best......remember the power of stories. Once upon a time we sat at the feet of our elders and listened to their stories of life, learning and love. We nurtured our souls and spirits with the power of those lessons and learned how to become the very best that we could be. We listened to the guidance, and we repeated the stories from one generation to another. ?It is time for us to return to the wonders of storytelling. For if we can listen there is much to learn. Storytelling allows us a glimpse into the lives of people that we otherwise wouldn't have. It lets us understand firsthand, someone else's life experience and offers a change in perspective, which brings a whole new world of opportunity.

Your life will be a great and continuous unfolding. But perhaps one of the greatest lessons will be the ability to listen to the stories of those around you. To listen with understanding and empathy for what they have experienced and what that has meant in their life. Never deny the experience of the storyteller; listen instead to learn, and understand the lesson, the guidance, or the moral of the story. Inherent in our stories is the capacity to grow in compassion and have a better world because of it. It is most important to use story telling with our youth so that their learning is augmented through the life lessons contained in those stories. We must share our stories of introspection and bring our deepest knowing to the people in our lives. Demonstrating respect for the young, the old, the sick, and those who have suffered. This is how we evolve. This is how we heal. Stories, bind us together with an invisible thread of humanity. Let us listen. Namaste

Clarissa Pinkola Estes said "Stories are medicine. I have been taken with stories since I heard my first. They have such power; they do not require that we do, be, act anything, we need only listen. The remedies for repair or reclamation of any lost psychic drive are contained in stories. Stories engender the excitement, sadness, questions, longings, and understandings back to the surface. Stories are embedded with instructions which guide us about the complexities of life. The nurture for telling stories comes from the might and endowments of my people who have gone before me. The telling moment of the story draws its power from a towering column of humanity joined one to the other across time and space. Stories set the inner life in motion."
