Thought for the Day ~ Share Your Authentic Self

Always do your best…..notice how often your mind wanders and how it produces all the ways that “you are not enough.” Now, consider the possibility that none of it is true. Rather, they are forms of inertia, and fear-based protection.?A way to avoid risk. What is most important in our quest to live our best life; is that we have a willingness to share our authentic selves to the world. That we are brave enough to step out in faith and pursue our dreams no matter the obstacles. But you have to be open to being cracked open. Wide open. Because it is in the difficult times that we grow leaps and bounds. It is during these times that we begin to pick up the pieces of ourselves and put them back together. It is the triumph of the soul and the return of you. It can take a while for us to recognize that healing is not just living through bad experiences.

It is learning and growing from them in such a way that we not only know better. But we do better. The ability to bring our authentic selves to every day requires us to be brave and to be generous when it comes to loving self. Without this love and attention, we fall down the rabbit holes and as life goes on, we experience things that eventually lead us to retract or alter the way we show ourselves to the world. Unchecked, we live in our world complaining our way through each day, acting as if we are powerless over our own lives. So, we must stay connected with the authentic spirit within us. The one that knows they are enough. You are the only one who determines your value and self worth. As hard as it is, the things that nearly break us, are also the things that came to make us whole. And so, it is. Namaste.

Jon Kabat -Zinn said “Generosity is another quality which, like patience, letting go, non-judging, and trust, provides a solid foundation for mindfulness practice. Focus on self and see if you can give yourself gifts that may be true blessings, such as self-acceptance, or some time each day with no purpose. Practice feeling deserving enough to accept those gifts without obligation. See if you can be in touch with a core within you which is rich beyond reckoning in all important ways. Let that core start radiating its energy outwardly, through your entire body. Give more than you think you can, trusting that you are richer than you think. Practice sharing the fullness of your being, your best self, your enthusiasm, the fullness of your being, your vitality, your spirit, your trust, your openness, above all your presence. Share it with yourself, with your family, with the world.”
