Thought for the Day ~ Remember the Power of Choice

Always do your best…..work each day to create harmony in your mind and heart and you will find it in your life. Often times when we grow up, we grow down in our thoughts and beliefs, and we don’t see the world with our innocence. We make everything too complicated. We allow our minds to become too noisy and worrisome with other people’s opinions. But if we keep our minds quiet, we can hear our own voice. So, we must not allow anyone to disturb our inner soul’s quiet grace. We must make the effort to look beyond and love ourselves so much that no one can hurt or disturb our peace.?To believe in yourself is perhaps the most powerful ability you have available to you.?That belief will carry you through every difficult situation or challenging circumstance and enable you to stand in your power.

?

In fact, your self-talk is the clearest indicator of your belief in yourself. If we allow the world to dictate what we believe about ourselves, then we will never be good enough. The world only celebrates an unattainable perfection. If we accept that version of a great life, then we will always see our lives, ourselves, and all that we are as not enough. The glass will always be half empty. Believing in yourself and loving yourself won’t ensure that there won’t be moments where you question yourself. But it will mean that you will not agree with those unrealistic images. Instead, you will see the next tiny step rather than allowing your head to spin with the journey ahead. Your life will ultimately be affected by two things, what you say yes to, and what you say no to. And so, it is. Namaste.

?

Don Miguel Ruiz Jr. said “It’s easy to blame the media, our culture, or our community for perpetuating unrealistic images of what it expects of us. But at the very core of these expectations, there is no one to blame; because a commercial like self-judgement, has no power over us unless we agree with its message. It is only when we willingly attach ourselves to these images and distortions that our happiness is compromised. Once we are aware of our self-judgements, we can reclaim our freedom by choosing for ourselves to transcend the rewards and punishment model that has been imposed upon us and eventually arrive at a place of self-acceptance. We have a choice. That is our power.”
