Sometimes in life you can put your best foot forward without actually putting your best foot forward with someone you care about. You shouldn't have to go all out to prove yourself to a person, that's overkill. Because in doing so means you have to maintain that level of over extending in order to keep that person interest. If the warm affection and attention you give that person isn't enough, that's the very same reason marriage will always elude them. People like that will grow old living life running from the obvious.
