Few of my favourite
- Prof. GG Prabhu
Keynote address – “At NIMHANS, Sixty and Counting. Clinical Psychology: Quo Vadis?”
He highlighted what all need our immediate attention in the field of Psychology, in Indian context. And what could be done to make this noble profession more effective; the utmost need to define Clinical Psychology in India and the importance of the acknowledging other emerging fields of Psychology. He explained the phenomenon of ‘Big Brother’ in this field. Seeing him talking with such energy made me imagine that what he could have been in his youth.

2. Prof. Malavika Kapoor
Plenary talk – “Childcare in the Indigenous Medical Systems in Ancient India”
Her talk established a relation among the common core constructs of Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Tibetan Medicine with reference to child development. Her oration was like a melody filled with loads of knowledge. She provided many possible areas to conduct empirical studies to establish the scientific grounds for the ancient practices that were/being followed for generations.

‘3L Concept’ team
It was represented by Dr. Sekar Srinivasan, Asst. Prof. Rojo Solomon George and I. We conducted concurrent workshop titled; “Training mental health professionals as social entrepreneurs; purpose, prerequisites and practices.” Our aim was to empower the participants with the right insights which help mental health professionals to use their expertise more effectively. With these insights a decentralized public mental health system could be created without the need of any funding from the government.

Muniraj; cleaning staff at Banglore Kempegowda airport
This gentleman delivered unexpected joy to me while I was returning from Bangalore. He conducted himself as the epitome of the professionalism and consumer service. On 20 Nov., he was on duty in a toilet located against the boarding gate number 13. Next time, if you are at Bangalore airport, do see him working. He is a huge motivation.
Sir, I wish someone conveys my feeling to you.
