Grieving over the Dead is always in the past. Its human nature to rise and go onward and forward.

Loosing of the precious present is not less suicidal by lingering in the past where its noting but ruins and self blame.

These feelings are so important that without lingering in the ruins of the past we will never move ahead and onward.

Staying there is where the problem stems.

Besides basing of joy on one little and single span of life is like looking in the mirror very earnestly and recognizing the cry from within of all that change that kicked in slowly as the years went by.

When the Veil of death came over our son Scooby on 30th April 2020, we as a family did not imagine that all is over especially dwelling over the last and lost opportunities we might have missed doing for our “BABU”

I have been dwelling as mentioned above and slowly I am getting that strength to put my mind on to this paper so that you too will realize how much Scoo meant to each one of you.

( There is more written about our babu in my Book Called “From Wine 2 D-Vine” which was supposed to be realised last Christmas of 2019. This book is still in process and I am hoping to unclog the drain in my mind)

It was a HOT Feb Summer & Valentine’s day. We some days back, just lost our first baby because the Dr. my wife was consulting was over educated and conducted an internal check up which was not supposed to be done and that created immediate complications with the heart beat of our baby.

We were staying in Indraprastha Sai Chowk Sanghvi, and when we got married I was staying here and my wife and later Babu came to this house. This was some 15 to 16 years back.

After a huge and emotional loss, I realized that if we get a puppy home it might cheer up my wife and also there would be change of energy around the house, this had become my top most priority.

I have written the whole affair of how and under what circumstances babu came into our life. Right now this book in being reviewed and edited by my Sister.

So back to current day, Babu heard the news of Late and Superb Actor Irfan Khan.

Usually babu has his afternoon bath because it wonderful just to splash some water on his hot body. Somehow because of so work, I did not give him his regular afternoon splash and it passed to evening. ( Its There in this Video )

Babu had his lunch of mixed lentil dals with boiled carrots and chunks of Liver with Chicken and somehow he always found the strength to manage to stand and eat. He walloped the meal and then headed to his water bowl which now was kept in the hall because he no longer could walk into the kitchen.

Babu had his water and as usual he always tried to keep himself very clean but there were times that increased when he would let himself go where he used to lie down. This is when his Hot Sponge’s every night started and he would smell like a puppy and would sleep like a baby in the night and not wake us up. I used to snuggle my nose after every hot sponge under his neck until he to picked his head up and gave me a kiss on my cheeks……

So it was around 1700 hrs and we were all sitting out in the balcony and babu was in the hall right under the fan when he kind of sniffed everyone in the balcony, and we were in the midst of the lockdown tea and biscuits in the balcony, So babu decides to let out a small cry and on purpose I turn my head away behaving I could not hear him….. This really irritates Babu and then he would actually use all his strength to try and lift himself up and when he could not he would have a stronger small baby bark which sent a spark down his entire body.

So Richel, helped him get up and now we have to hold his back bone so that he would not loose balance. Babu’s front legs are very strong and towards the end they started to swell up because all his body weight was being managed by his front legs and also because of the numerous falls he has taken all of a sudden while trying to get up and walk.

Babu came out into the balcony and hopping around for biscuits from his mother’s hand.

He had his Biscuits and that when he sat down, looking into my eyes saying. Where is my bath dude…… I pulled out the pipe, and for the first time in his life babu had his bath lying down and without a groan or a grumble. He did not even make a sound when I turned him around to bathe him the other side too….. Babu has always had amazing Skin and overall been a very strong & healthy companion to us.

He very rarely fell ill and he would never have any demands other than fight for his place on the bed with is head on the pillow and would end up winning the fight with all of us is because he would show us his teeth. During the end it felt like his teeth also sharpened all by themselves…………

So he had his bath after hearing the news of Irfan Khan and then he had his early dinner and lay flat under the water cooler. Babu slept with just 1 wake up during the night where he would release his bowels and then his early morning walk time which he still wanted even though he could not walk straight. I stopped taking him for his walk where he used to meet with a Female brown dog named “Umm” and then he had “Tiger” and “Coconut”. “Old Man” left us I guess in Feb where a car went over him. “Kalu” also went the same way as “Old Man”.

Babu, had his breakfast at his right time, a big bowl of Ensure and the rest will always remain personal to us until we are ready as a family to share.

Scooby passed away between 11:00 to 11:15 in the morning after he went down for his walk where he did not require my assistance. He did take a piss before entering the lift on the corridor which was cleant immediately by his mother just so happy to see her son walk down. Richel fortunately took a video of his last walk down with confidence and pride. You will see it in this video.

Please remember that Scoo kicked back to life just a week back when he was completely in a very bad shape.

Please allow me to to introduce you to Scooby’s gurdian Angel. Dr. Sumati Ramachandra. Remember as I say very carefully she had to win this title from Babu. Scooby trusted his life in this angels hands and whenever Scooby was in his lowest just a small visit to this angel and Scooby would kick back to health like a rocket. I have written about this angel in my book From Wine 2 D-Vine and her love affair with Scooby Rodrigues.

I would also like to mention the people of my building Elite Galaxy. There was never a moment where Scoo was not loved and asked about. Scooby was a Winner of hearts. I would like to mention 1 person no 2 people who helped babu.

During this lockdown all of a sudden, the medical shops also started shutting at 1400 hrs. A week before Scoo passed away his Guardian Angel recommended that we give Scoo Ensure and see if he likes it. I went running around with my Daughter Becky looking for Ensure at around 1600 hrs. I guess the value of a chemist I realized when none were open and I could not get out of our area because I did not have a pass.

I came back to Elite and see this couple the Chairman and his Wife Playing carom all by themselves in the games room of the building. My instinct said to ask them if they know any chemist that would be open. I was amazed when the Chairman’s wife volunteered to go into Kothrud and get babu his Ensure. I obviously did not impose but this is a real example of being a hero and having a pass to volunteer.

The second person who I would like to thank is the Elderly Bengali Aunty who stays opposite our home. She always saw Scoo and me fighting and going down waiting for the lift while Scoo grumbling and trying to fall on the pots that were placed in the corridor. So this Bengali aunty was in her Kitchen and I asked her if she had any Ensure because it was usually recommended for the Elderly. At first she said no and then after sometime she calls our mobile and tells us that she found some and its kept outside in her bag. I was like shocked and thanked her moving towards the pick up of babu ensure. She too turned out t o be an angel because as soon and my wife made the concoction babu at first was having problems raising his head and now his head was up and walloping the mixture. This gave Babu his last week with us. We Thank the Bengali Elderly couple.

15 Years babu was with us and its all because of this Angel Dr. Sumati Ramachandra who during the end was with scooby only to be there for him without any expectations. All she would say is she needs only Scooby’s blessings. That’s all…

Babu was bought up with Weekly Massages with a special oil filled with roots that was prepared by Dr. Sumati Ramachandra and I am hoping to learn so that we can share it with everyone.

Babu Was bought up with only home food cooked only by my wife with occasional and weekly special kababs and Tandoori and you name the chatpatta chicken lolly pop etc. He was the only one the wanted his mother to feed him the first morsel when he had those down days in his life. The first morsel would do the trick because it used to be only of the choicest piece of meat.

Babu was not bought up but he also bought us up. He bought up Richel and even fought off a full-grown Baboon who had come to our window to carry off Richel who was still a baby and Scooby fought off that baboon. He would repeatedly sleep right next to the door so the crawling girls would not go out of the house. I remember Becky trying to investigate Scooby’s mouth put her full head inside his mouth trying to look inside his throat. Babu was the protector of our girls.

Scooby never missed a day in his life where he has not been loved even after having small fights…..

I can actually go on and on like so many things I feel like sharing where he only loved Bruce Lee Movies as a puppy and loved taking a swig of my beer mug when I walked into the kitchen to do something. We caught him so many times and then he would go and hide his face….. so on and on I can go but now its like getting into the ruins…. The reason why I call it a ruin is only because of the emotion that comes out of me when I think about all this. There is a lot of peace but also that tiny dot of pain that could break us down anytime………

For me using a phrase like now Scooby Rest’s in Peace would be completely incorrect because that's what he used to do when he was in his body…. Always resting… we actually was about to name him Lazy boy when he spent his first evening tucked into his just found mama arms and chest and we had to actually check to see if he is alive……

As usual I might have left some points open and its because I lost thought only to be filled up at a later stage…… Love you all……Scooby’s Family.
