I love this quote! The best thing that prepared me for the challenges of the teaching profession was the realism that the course leader of my PGCE displayed. She was one tough woman and we were all very fearful of her, but looking back now, I'm so grateful for the reality that she portrayed. Teaching is a tough profession but so, so very rewarding. Remember the saying? Those who can...teach! Those who can? Can what?
Here's my thoughts, based on my 20 years experience...

-plan in detail
-multi-task
-balance life priorities alongside teaching
-have effective relationships and be a team player
-be open to change
-be able to prioritise
-be passionate
-positive minded
-enthusiastic
-be results focused alongside understanding holistic development
