Those divine blessings of grace and peace

Let me tell you my own personal story years ago. While sitting near the edge of an ocean-side, I was randomly reflecting on a very specific past incident. Though I cannot really discuss the incident per se, I can tell you that it was really bothersome to my mind. I was totally engrossed in my deep thoughts looking at the waves hitting the rocky shores. Suddenly I heard the sounds of approaching footsteps behind me and actually it startled me a bit as I turned around to see a very concerned young lady with a toddler walking towards me. Looking at her running towards me, I immediately stood up and said, “Hey, Hi , what happened Sister? Her response truly warmed my heart.

"Bhai", She said, “You were sitting so close to the edge of the rock, with that sad, distant look on your face. Something inside my gut told me I should check on you to make sure you were in a healthy state of mind and not contemplating suicide or anything. Are you ok Brother?. Do you need any help?” She even offered me home made cookies from her purse. If I had to guess her age, she was probably in her early 30s and must have carried them for her toddler who had an amused look on his face looking at me.

There was nothing I was contemplating what she thought that I was about to commit suicide or something drastic. Then I realised how kind hearted that stranger lady was to me? What I was doing sitting there all alone and any body would have thought exactly like she did. I thanked god for his blessings and grace. It is time to be more impressed by your own generosity, your integrity, your humility, and your kindness towards others.

Ultimately how far we go in life depends on our willingness to be helpful to the young and be respectful to the old also be tender with the hurt and be supportive of the striving, and very tolerant of those who are weaker or stronger than the majority. Because, trust me, we wear many hats throughout the course of our lives, and at some point in your life you will realize you have been all of these people.

Let’s live Life the way it should be lived. Shall we? Because my interpretation of blessing at the beginning order of importance and these are things that one may work towards their whole lifetime. To me if you spent a lifetime pursuing these blessings, it would be a life well spent. Relationship with God/Creator- Relationship with God takes time and work to develop and maintain. I do not believe that you have a viable relationship with God simply because you exist. All things in existence have an objective relationship with God, whether one believe in God or not, but an active relationship with God takes pursuit and development. To know and do this is a blessing.

It is true that relationship with self and once again a relationship that takes time, awareness, and practice to develop. It is much easier to put up a facade or farce, then it is to take the time alone to set yourself apart from the world. This though, is what is required to ask the question, “Who am I?” and take the to listen to internal answers and work towards development. Greatly difficult. So that if you are allotted, or allot yourself time in your life to do so, it is truly a blessing.

By allowing the Love that has developed through the relationships with God and self, to shine through you so that you can be a light in the world. This aides in the development of being a parent, having a family, being a friend, and being a altruistic human being. Your blessings become a blessing to others. If you really see our first blessing is life itself; the ability to live, breathe, smile, hear, speak, feel, walk, talk, think and sense. The second, to be born free; in a country and in a time without artificial barriers, around or in front of me; yet with the structure and protections that allowed me to exercise and grow that freedom; exercise creativity and achieve what my first blessings allowed.

Finally the third, the good fortune to have God in my life and solid values and norms introduced early into my life. These allowed me to walk, each day, with an eye toward my fellow man and grow in the ways of love and service in every step of the second. God is my wing-man on this journey called life; my blessings are limitless. I am an imperfect person, whose life is filled with mistakes and lessons, richness, great things and rewards. It is the reality of the all, thanks to the blessings above, that makes each day its own reward, and no day feel a loss. But I am humble, honest and kind by nature and that itself is a blessing and grace for me. Cheers!
