70 year old male doctor complained of severe mid back pain that radiated across the ribs into the chest. Contrast enhanced MRI on the left image showed a mass infiltrating the T11 vertebral body and on the right image spinal cord compression was seen. PET CT showed that this was a hypermetabolic cancer.? A single stage posterior approach was performed resecting the cancer and reconstructing the spine.? Pathology confirmed plasmacytoma and adjunct therapy was initiated after the incision was healed. At one year post-operative, patient is cancer free and physically active.
