Thomson Reuters First HR Confluence in Bangalore- September 4, 2015
Over the last decade there has been continuous volatility and change in the business, political, social, technological, and even the physical environment. Well, this world of turmoil actually has a name, which is VUCA—an acronym for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity.
To thrive in this VUCA environment, businesses have to be able to respond to these changes in order to continue to remain competitive and be market leaders. There are many examples of organizations which did not respond to these and either no longer exist or have been become irrelevant in that space.
HR plays a vital role here because we are key in helping companies transform by setting the people agenda which includes attracting, retaining, allocating and developing the right talent so that we can compete effectively in the market place. Just as CFO’s play a lead role in managing financial capital for the organization, HR needs to be effective in effectively managing human capital.
Pleased to share that Thomson Reuters initiated the very first HR Confluence – Key to Success of HR in the VUCA world, where we were joined by 16 external HR Leaders and Academicians .
The first ever summit designed, organized and led by the TR India HR community, the Confluence focused on how the current business landscape is changing and providing in-depth insights into how HR function can adapt and evolve to respond to these challenges.
