Thirty-Five Years Young and Ten Years In: A Letter from our President & CEO

What constitutes a meaningful time segment of life? A year? A minute? That's a great discussion topic over your favorite beverage. The answer certainly changes with time.?2022 marks the thirty-fifth anniversary of New England Life Care and my tenth anniversary as President & CEO.??

Born out of the need to provide continuity of care to rural patients, NELC was founded in 1987 by thirteen northern New England hospitals.?Today we have grown to six locations, servicing over sixty Members with a vision to be an indispensable partner collaborating to transform the patient care continuum.?To achieve our vision, we have deepened our engagement and aligned our strategic initiatives with you, our Members, to revolutionize home infusion, 503B compounding and patient flow management. Touching over 4,200 patients daily, we are honored to care for your patients whom you entrust to us every day. Considering the average lifespan of a home infusion company is only ten years according to the NHIA, we at NELC feel blessed to have built a lasting foundation of care as a service organization assisting our Members in achieving their goals of decreasing length of stay and reducing admissions and readmissions as we coordinate seamless transitions of care.

It is important for us all to stop occasionally and reflect on what we are grateful for.?NELC is easily the most rewarding professional experience I have had in a career blessed with wonderful opportunities. Recently, I was thinking of the past 3,650 days and what made it so special. It's the people!

  • The kind and caring NELC professionals who bring a part of themselves each day to provide the best in class care we are so proud of. NELC has a core that is family built over these last thirty plus years who are collectively the soul of NELC.
  • The NELC Board of Directors who provide governance and guidance to assist NELC in growing each year while understanding the needs of our Members and strategically developing goals to support those Members in transforming healthcare every day.
  • The many healthcare professionals we engage with in our daily operations, from care coordination teams to clinical providers to administrative professionals, all working in synchronization to provide quality care and optimizing patient experience.

Thank you for partnering with us over the last thirty-five years and making the last ten years a truly meaningful segment of my life. As I look forward, the future is bright and we at NELC are excited to unfold the next chapter of coordinated care and patient flow management with you!
