THIRD THURSDAY - Capital District YMCA

Hello Capital District community leaders,

February marks Black History Month. The The Y (YMCA) has launched a new nationwide commitment, building on our longstanding commitment to help the next generation of young Black and Brown boys and girls become leaders in their communities, with the Capital District YMCA leading the effort. By engaging at least 100,000 Black and Brown youth annually in YMCA teen programs across the country, we hope to create access to academic, college readiness, professional development and public service opportunities that will put young people on the path to economic and socio- emotional stability. This will in turn bring greater prosperity, better health outcomes, fuller self-determination and generational wealth accumulation.

Here in the Capital Region, we launched our Black and Latino Achievers Program in 11 schools this year. They have attended events at Siena College and the University at Albany ; later this month, a group of juniors and seniors are embarking on a three day trip to visit the, University of Delaware , the 美国宾夕法尼亚大学 , and Cheney University. With our Adult Achievers and our staff, we have built a network of support and opportunities for these youth as they progress to the next stage of their lives. I encourage you to get involved; click here or send me an email to learn more.?

Thank you for your continued support of the Capital District YMCA .?
