Third "Rizzoli Timepiece Trilogy" Title AIR TIME—Coming This Summer
Aaron Sigmond, creator and packager of the Rizzoli Timepiece Trilogy, a Rizzoli New York book series, is proud to confirm today the forthcoming publication of the third and final title in the trio—AIR TIME: Watches Inspired by Aviation, Aeronautics, and Pilots.
“It is with great pleasure I get to announce today that AIR TIME, the last scheduled sequel to the lauded DRIVE TIME: Watches Inspired by Automobiles, Motorcycles, and Racing, and SEA TIME: Watches Inspired by Sailing, Yachting, and Diving, will be released this coming summer,” Sigmond says. “Together these watch and men’s-lifestyle works make up the Rizzoli Timepiece Trilogy, a project I conceived of in 2014 and launched in 2016.”
Like the previous monographs in the series, AIR TIME is a striking, thoughtfully curated collection of contemporary and vintage timepieces—in this book wristwatches specifically inspired by planes, rockets, legendary pilots—even hot air balloons.
Written by watch journalist Mark Bernardo, AIR TIME features a foreword by Aviation Hall of Famer Jim DiMatteo, an afterword by former NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, and original photography by Eric Adams, as well as an epilogue by Sigmond, who also edited this volume.
The completed series is art directed by award-winning book designer Liliana Guia.
